FNC Speaker hails UAE Food Bank initiative

Dr Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), hailed the spirit of philanthropy displayed by the UAE’s leadership.
In a statement, she praised the pursuit of charity work under the leadership of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; and Their Highnesses Rulers of the Emirates.
The statement, which marked the launch of the UAE Food Bank initiative by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, said it will reinforce the values of generosity and giving, a tradition inherited from the nation’s ancestors in the UAE.
She also said the FNC greatly appreciates the initiative, and noted that the Council would play a prime role in making the Year of Giving a success. She recalled that the FNC’s agenda emphasises the need to promote a sense of community partnership and a culture of social responsibility to support the efforts of the UAE leadership.
“We realise the immense importance of the humanitarian initiative undertaken in the form of the UAE Food Bank, particularly as one billion people around the world live in extreme poverty,” the Speaker of the FNC said.
