The UAE is playing a vital role in deepening the values of tolerance, peace and harmony among the members of the community, said Nurlan Yermekbayev, Minister for Religious and Civil Society Affairs, Kazakhstan.
The minister praised the UAE’s commitment to the principles of dialogue, peace, co-operation, and mutual respect and understanding, and highlighted the country’s efforts to sustain the values of tolerance among the members of the community and across generations that would preserve the mental well-being of individuals, especially young generations, and immune them against ideologies of intolerance, extremism and
violence.
During a meeting with the National Programme for Tolerance team, the Kazakh Minister noted that the UAE has been proactive and a leader in introducing advanced preventive legislations, including the anti-hate and anti-discrimination law.
Yermekbayev also expressed his country’s readiness to co-operate with the UAE in any positive contribution to
promote tolerance values
regionally and globally.
Rashed Al Tunaiji, Member of the National Programme for Tolerance, briefed the Kazakh Minister on the features of the programme.
“The programme is based on seven main pillars, namely, Islam, the UAE Constitution, Zayed’s Legacy and Ethics of the UAE, International Conventions, Archaeology and History, Humanity and Common Values,†he said.
“It has five main themes: Strengthen the government’s role as an incubator of tolerance; consolidate the role of family in nation building; promote tolerance among young people and prevent them from fanaticism and extremism;
enrich scientific and cultural content, and integrate international efforts to promote tolerance and highlight the leading role of the UAE in this area,†he
explained.
