GNTB concludes 2016 GCC roadshow in Dubai

The German National Tourism Board (GNTB) concluded its 2016 version of the recurring Roadshow “Dalla fi Almania”, an annual event that joins the board’s top tourism partners in Germany, including airlines, tourism boards and companies, hotels, travel agencies, and marketing fi“rms. The 2016 show was kicked off in Kuwait and concluded in Dubai on the 24th, passing by the UAE capital Abu Dhabi. This year’s roadshow witnesses the participation of 18 partners among them: Wiesbaden Marketing GmbH, Tourismus+Congress GmbH Frankfurt am Main, and Fraport participating as premium partners.
“We are pleased to have concluded yet another successful Roadhshow in this region only weeks after announcing the new record of visitors from the GCC region to Germany. 2015 was especially successful in attracting visitors from this region, with over 2 million overnight stays recorded.” Said Maria Amaral, Director of the Marketing & Sales Office of the German National Tourist Office (GNTO) in the Gulf region. “The show highlights our commitment to this region, which occupies a center stage in our plans and initiatives. We want visitors from the GCC region to think of Germany as a premium destination for their travels, as evident in the large number of tourism specialists taking part in the show.” she explained.
The show, which is held under the theme “Holidays in the heart of nature in Germany”, represents a great platform for German tourism specialists in the region, where they showcase their offerings, plans and products to the local audience, building on the huge success the German tourism sector is witnessing in the GCC region, with numbers of visitors from the region setting a new record in the past year. The show also comes on top of a year of success for GNTO, which launched several successful initiatives over the past few years, including its signature theme “Dallal fi Almania”, which scored exceptional success in bringing Germany’s offers to their lovers in the GCC region.
“Germany is a perfect destination to spend a holiday in nature. It has many options to offer its guests, be it: the lush green meadows, crystal clear lakes, majestic mountains and much more. The pleasant temperate climate of Germany in summer is another factor that adds to the charm of the place and woos tourists from this region.”

With the “Holidays in the heart of nature in Germany” theme, GNTO will showcase the large offerings Germany has in natural wonders and experiences related to them, especially in terms of natural and national parks, and protected biosphere reserves. However, the board will keep on focusing on other aspects of the tourism sector in the country, such as health care tourism, cultural experiences, smart luxury, city life, and archeological wonders.
GNTO’s roadshow is a core initiative that comes in line with the board’s activities aiming at promoting destination Germany in the Gulf region, including initiatives for the travel trade and local media representatives. The roadshow includes activities such as study tours, training and presentations for travel trade representatives aimed at raising awareness among the regional audience about the unique offerings Germany has for its guests.
