Dubai Police, Mashreq tie up for ‘smart’ payments

Mashreq — one of the UAE’s leading financial institutions — has partnered with the Dubai Police to provide unique and innovative payment acceptance services to the UAE public. This comes as part of the Dubai smart city and smart government vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The initiative will be realized through a new customer facing, self-service touch screen device, which will be installed at the counters of the Dubai Police service centers. With its user friendly layout and elegant design, the system will make it easier and more convenient for customers to use, manage and make transactions. The payment device also includes features including a satisfaction survey for the customer to complete right after the transaction.
The signing ceremony which took place in Dubai Police Headquarters was presented by H.E. AbdulAziz Al Ghurair and Commander in Chief – Lt. General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina.

Additionally, Dubai Police will make available mobile POS solutions through Mashreq, enabling customers to make payments on the go.
Lt. General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, Commander in Chief, commented: “Paying for traffic fines couldn’t have been more convenient. Individuals visiting the various stations and our premises will find the new devices useful and more efficient and this is possible thanks to our partnership with Mashreq. This new device is aligned with Dubai Police’s efforts and initiatives to turn all their services into smart services and proof our effort to reinforce Dubai smart city and smart government vision.”
Mashreq is the first bank to integrate such state of the art payments solutions with the Dubai Police systems. The devices will be installed at the headquarters of Dubai Police and other locations thereafter.
