Al Montazah festivities see huge turnout

Al Montazah, Sharjah’s first amusement and waterpark, saw a huge turnout of visitors with the crowds of residents and tourists keen to share the blessings of the occasion and enjoy fun-packed water-based activities at the emirate’s popular leisure destination.
Visitors to Al Montazah were able to soak up a joyful atmosphere all day long, with family members across the generations making the most of the array of water rides and activities, keeping themselves cool while having fun in the sun.
As well as enjoying its range of exhilarating aquatic activities, visitors at Al Montazah Amusement and Water Park took the opportunity to try their hand at its variety of electronic games, with younger family members in particular keen to show their skills at interactive and engaging video games that require quick reactions as they deliver their thrills and excitement. Family members also enjoyed the delicious food and beverages served at Al Montazah’s world-class restaurants and cafes spread throughout the park.
In celebration of Eid Al Fitr, Al Montazah has organised a programme of entertainment activities that ran from 4:00 p.m. – 12:00 midnight. Little ones were able to enjoy two daily shows given by Al Montazah’s mascots at 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., with the lovable characters inspired by the wonderful world of animals. Al Montazah – Amusement and Water Park, formerly known as “Al Jazeera Park” offers thrilling water rides and a lavish leisure park, with new leisure amenities continuously being added to the park, Al Montazah is Sharjah’s number one family destination.
Thanks to its strategic location near the Government Departments Complex, Central Market and Khalid Lagoon and easy to reach from other emirates in the country, as well as the leisure facilities and services, Al Montazah has become one of the fastest growing tourist destinations in terms of visitors.
It provides visitors with about 229 parking lots, four of them are dedicated for the handicapped, in addition to the parking near the Flag Island on the opposite side, which allows visitors to spend time enjoying the beautiful atmosphere in the park. Al Montazah consists of two main sections; the Water Park which offers world-class facilities and water rides, and the Amusement Park that offers a variety of electronic games, it also includes kart racing, two mini football playgrounds.
The park’s newest attraction, ‘Al Montazah Adventures’, consists of various games and obstacle courses that strengthen the body and mind. This series of outdoor activities, which caters to both sport novices and seasoned athletes alike, provides visitors with the opportunity to climb ropes, mount walls and cross trails, encouraging an exciting combination of teamwork and exploration.
Recently, Al Montazah has won the Sharjah Tourism Excellence Award for 2014 as the best new tourist destination in the emirate
in recognition of its world-class
facilities and services, making it a unique tourist destination for
families and tourists.
