C Resorts Strengthens Its Sustainability Commitment with Green Globe Certification for C Rodrigues Mourouk and Recertification of C Mauritius Palmar

GULF TIME

Green Globe is one of the hospitality industry’s most respected sustainability certifications, recognising tourism businesses that demonstrate measurable progress across environmental management, social responsibility, cultural preservation, and sustainable operations. The certification process involves rigorous independent audits assessing performance in areas such as energy efficiency, water conservation, waste management, responsible sourcing, community engagement, and environmental protection.
For C Resorts, this achievement represents far more than compliance with standards. It reflects a deeply rooted philosophy: creating meaningful experiences while preserving the natural environments and communities that make each destination unique. The certification of C Rodrigues Mourouk marks an important step forward for the hotel and for Rodrigues itself, a destination where environmental balance is particularly fragile and where tourism plays a key role in supporting sustainable development.
“We are extremely proud to see C Rodrigues reach this milestone and to confirm the continued commitment of C Mauritius through its recertification. Sustainability is a journey that requires consistency, dedication, and genuine engagement from our teams. These recognitions demonstrate the tangible actions implemented daily across our hotels,” says Olivier de Guardia, General Manager, C Resorts.
Among the environmental initiatives supported by C Rodrigues is the Bluer Ocean Project, a coral restoration programme led in Rodrigues by Jérôme Branellec and his team. The project focuses on regenerating coral ecosystems in the lagoon through the installation of coral structures designed to promote reef growth and restore marine biodiversity.
Launched during the COVID period, the initiative has already delivered encouraging results, with new coral colonies developing successfully and marine life progressively returning to restored areas.
C Rodrigues contributes to this initiative through the regular sponsorship of coral structures, while also raising awareness among guests and offering them the opportunity to participate through voluntary donations should they wish to support the preservation of Rodrigues’ lagoon.
For C Resorts, such projects illustrate how hospitality can act as a positive force, not only by reducing environmental impact but also by actively contributing to ecosystem regeneration.
The dual achievement of certification and recertification reflects the brand’s broader ambition to continue advancing sustainable practices across operations while offering guests authentic, vibrant, and responsible island experiences.
“Our destinations are at the heart of what we offer. Protecting them is not an option; it is a responsibility. These certifications encourage us to go further and continue innovating in the way we operate and engage with our environments and communities,” adds Olivier de Guardia.
As C Resorts continues its development, sustainability will remain a central pillar, guiding decisions and partnerships to ensure that the beauty, culture, and biodiversity of Mauritius and Rodrigues can be preserved for generations to come.
