Al Ain Zoo, one of the largest zoos in the Middle East, is gearing up to celebrate the UAE’s 54th Eid Al Etihad with a full program of cultural performances, family friendly workshops, heritage experiences, and newly opened attractions. Visitors of all ages are invited to enjoy a festive atmosphere across the Zoo, complete with newly opened restaurants and cafes along with enhanced guest services.
On December 1 and 2, the Zoo will come alive with authentic Emirati traditions, featuring the beloved Ayala and Harbiya band Sultan Al Raisi, roaming entertainment and a variety of live stage shows hosted by Emirati influencer AlMazyood. Guests can immerse themselves in heritage inspired décor and take part in creative workshops such as calligraphy, henna, pottery, embroidery, and clay pot making.
Guests can also make their way to the Zoo’s main stage area, where they can enjoy a lineup of cultural performances, LED dancers, puppet shows, and engaging acts that celebrate the spirit of the UAE. A limited time heritage souq will also bring in themed kiosks, a 360 cameras experience, traditional games, an open-air cinema and more.
Along with the celebrations, Al Ain Zoo is enhancing the visitor experience with eight new restaurants and cafes including Wild Burger, for juicy beef and chicken burgers, hotdogs and refreshing milkshakes and Zarafa Restaurant, serving diverse selection of international cuisine. In addition to a new retail store – The Safari Souq, and an improved air-conditioned hop-on, hop-off shuttle service for easier navigation around the zoo. Visitors are also encouraged not to miss the newly opened gorilla sanctuary and enjoy the return of the hippo and crocodile exhibits.
To round off the day, visitors can enjoy The Heritage Show, a mesmerizing daily projection mapping display that lights up the Sheikh Zayed Desert Learning Centre at 6:30 PM, celebrating culture, nature, and storytelling in a visually stunning spectacle.
Al Ain Zoo is more than just a destination; it is a sanctuary of life and learning. The Zoo aims to promote wildlife conservation and environmental sustainability through its breeding and conservation programs that have significantly contributed to preserving endangered species, while its ongoing research and educational initiatives inspire visitors to become enthusiastic advocates for wildlife conservation.
The Zoo now operates with extended hours from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, giving families plenty of time to enjoy the celebrations and explore the wildlife. Admission is AED 31.50 for adults, AED 10.50 for children aged 3 to 12, and free for children under 3.
