ABU DHABI / WAM
The China International Communications Group (CICG), represented by its Centre for Europe and Africa, organised the “China Today Intangible Cultural Heritages” exhibition as part of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF).
The exhibition aims to highlight China’s intangible cultural heritage, a fundamental pillar of its cultural identity, within the framework of strengthening cultural exchange between China and Arab countries.
The exhibition focuses on showcasing the beauty of Chinese cultural heritage through a collection of distinctive cultural products, such as daily and artistic porcelain, traditional costumes designed using cultural heritage techniques, in addition to tea products and derivatives of traditional Chinese medicine.
It also features Chinese calligraphy, jewellery distinguished by its exquisite craftsmanship, alongside a range of creative products that embody intangible cultural heritage in an innovative way.
CICG was founded in October 1949 and has since introduced China’s development to the world while promoting international exchanges. Annually, CICG publishes around 3,000 books and periodicals in over 40 languages, with its publications distributed across more than 180 countries and regions, and an online audience spanning the globe.
Dedicated to international communication with a special focus on Europe, Africa and West Asia, the Centre for Europe and Africa, part of CICG, is a media complex that operates eight websites in Chinese, English, French, Arabic and German. The centre also carries out communication research, promotes international cooperation, and manages the daily operations of its offices in the Middle East and Africa.
