The Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC) launched the #BeMyVoice campaign to encourage the community in general and the media and social media influencers in particular, to support the victims of violence against women and children and shed light on their suffering, as well as spreading awareness on how to confront violence and prevent it in the community.
This came during The Iftar ceremony, organized by DFWAC recently for the media, in the presence of Brigadier Obaid Al Muhair, Board member, Abdullah Bin Sougat, Board member, Shaikha Al Mansouri, Assistant Director General for Corporate Support and the participation of more than 150 representatives of the media, influencers along with officials in DFWAC.
In her speech during the Iftar ceremony, Shaikha Almansouri said that DFWAC considers the media its strategic partner, ever since its foundation in 2007, as it believes that the success of any community work depends on the awareness efforts in which the media plays a main and pivotal role.
She added that collaborating with the media is a part of DFWAC’s core business towards the achievement of its objectives, being the main link
between the Foundation and the members of the community, and contributing in spreading awareness on issues of violence and how to prevent it, which also makes the media a partner in all the successes that the DFWAC achieved till date. “#BeMyVoice campaign comes in the context of DFWAC’s aim to strengthen its partnership with the media in society and family issues in general, and the issues of violence against women and children in particular, calling on the media to be a platform that can reflect the voice and aspirations of the victims, and to raise more awareness among the community, eventually contributing to the achievement of vision UAE 2021 to build a bonded and stable society” Al Mansouri said.
She thanked the media for their continued support leading to the success of all the initiatives and activities undertaken by DFWAC, and promoting the interests and stability of the UAE society and the happiness of its members, In addition, she expressed her hope that the coming period would witness more fruitful cooperation in this regard. The Iftar ceremony was attended by journalists and media personalities from different media outlets in the UAE. Such as MBC group, Dubai Channels Network, Abu Dhabi Media, Newsweek Middle East among others, in addition to representatives of Indian and Filipino media in the UAE.
