Michael Rutman, CEO of Ma Hawa, an Emirati brand owned by Baynunah Watergeneration Technologies SP LLC, praised the UAE’s commitment to global water security and said: “The launch of the ‘Mohamed bin Zayed Water Initiative’ by the UAE is a truly commendable step forward in addressing the critical issue of water scarcity. The initiative’s focus on accelerating technological advancements strongly resonates with our own mission to develop efficient and environmentally friendly water from-air generation solutions.”
“The announcement comes at a critical juncture in history, as the escalating climate crisis and warming of that pose a major threat to food and water security. Studies show that a one-degree Celsius increase in global average temperature adds about 7% extra moisture to the atmosphere, drying out soils, increasing evaporation, overloading the water cycle and making rainfall more erratic. At the same time, unbalanced land use and deforestation increase pollution and emissions, affecting the availability of freshwater. This shows the growing importance of managing water resources in today’s world,” he added.
Mr Rutman further added that ‘The Mohamed bin Zayed Water Initiative’ has the potential to transform the fight for water security, and with its innovative water-from-air technology. Ma Hawa is keen to work with the initiative and its stakeholders. “We at Ma Hawa applaud the leadership’s foresight and proactive approach to promoting innovation, collaboration and awareness of the challenge of water scarcity around the world,” he said.
Beyond Ma Hawa’s commitment to the UAE’s sustainability and water security goals, the company is actively seeking partnerships with national and international institutions to provide clean, healthy and safe water to the most vulnerable and affected regions worldwide.
