Under the patronage of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, 2nd Cyber Pulse Initiative for Women and Family launches in Abu Dhabi

Under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, President of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and Mother of the Nation, the second Cyber Pulse Initiative for Women and Family has launched, in cooperation with the Cybersecurity Council and the Khalifa Empowerment Program, Aqdar, at a ceremony held at the headquarters of the General Women’s Union in Abu Dhabi.
The activities include organising a dialogue session entitled Artificial Intelligence in the Digital Space, with the participation of His Excellency Dr Mohammed Al Kuwaiti, Chairman of the Cybersecurity Council of the UAE Government, His Excellency Counselor Dr Ibrahim Al Dabal, CEO of the Khalifa Empowerment Program, and Engineer Ghalia Al Mannai, Chairman of the Affairs Committee at the General Women’s Union.
The initative will also witness the graduation ceremony of the first batch of the Cyber Pulse Initiative for Women and Family, which aimed to qualify female trainees at all age levels, who underwent specialised training to provide courses, workshops and lectures, targeting a total of 50,000 community members.
The first batch was able to exceed the target to reach more than 115,000 beneficiaries of the workshops and awareness brochures, which were implemented to achieve the objectives of the initiative, to enhance the culture of social responsibility, spread digital awareness and safe ways to use modern technologies positively, and consolidate women’s participation in cybersecurity, by forming teams of females specialised in cybersecurity.
The second batch targets 300,000 beneficiaries during 2024, based on the keenness of the General Women’s Union, in cooperation with its strategic partners, redoubling previous efforts to achieve a greater and more beneficial achievement and service to society. The General Women’s Union also worked to develop the training programme to include a new track, artificial intelligence in cyberspace.
The Cyber Pulse Initiative for Women and Family adopts the latest global practices in the field of cybersecurity to prepare female candidates, so that they can continue working to enable members of society to deal professionally and avoid cyberattacks.
Through the initiative, the General Women’s Union seeks for the UAE to become a leader in empowering women in the field of cybersecurity, with the support and cooperation of strategic partners, which has increased with more than 30 entities joining the second batch by nominating women across multiple fields, supporting efforts to achieve the goals of the initiative, with the aim of spreading a culture of cybersecurity in UAE society, in line with digital transformation in all sectors.
The General Women’s Union is also planning to expand the geographical scope of the initiative to include Arab countries, following the directives of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, a pioneer of humanitarian work, supporting women in the Emirates and across the world.
