UAE Foreign Minister, Portuguese counterpart discuss bilateral ties, regional developments

HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, has discussed with João Gomes Cravinho, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Portuguese Republic, the developments in the Middle East and the repercussions of the current crisis, particularly on the humanitarian front.
During a phone call, Sheikh Abdullah emphasised the significance of enhancing regional and international efforts to calm the situation and combat extremism, tension, and escalating violence in the region. He highlighted the importance of protecting civilians and preserving their lives.
The UAE Foreign Minister also underscored the urgency of bolstering humanitarian responses to address the needs of the people in Gaza to alleviate their suffering.
Furthermore, the two ministers delved into bilateral relations and explored avenues for cooperation across various economic, commercial, and developmental realms. Sheikh Abdullah reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Portuguese Republic across diverse fields to serve both nations’ mutual interests and support their developmental aspirations and visions for sustainable economic prosperity.
