UAE’s cycling team dominates Giro dell’Appennino with impressive victory

Swiss cyclist Marc Hirschi, aged 24 and representing UAE Team Emirates, the UAE’s cycling team, emerged victorious in the Giro dell’Appennino in Italy. The race covered a distance of 198 km, starting from Novi Ligure and concluding in Genoa.
Hirschi secured the title following a closely contested battle with Cristián Rodríguez — Team Arkea Samsic. This achievement marks the 30th triumph for UAE Team Emirates during the current season, with Hirschi himself claiming his third victory this year. Reflecting on his remarkable win, Hirschi expressed his delight, stating, “This victory holds a special place for me.”
“After my success in the Tour de Hongrie, I approached the Giro dell’Appennino with a calm mindset, relying on my well-established fitness gained from previous races. I had to chase Rodríguez relentlessly to bridge the gap, and as I crossed the finish line, the experience was truly awe-inspiring, especially amidst the immense crowd and the electrifying atmosphere.”
