Dubai Future Foundation revealed the agenda of the international Blockchain technology conference, Keynote 2016, which is set to kicks off on Monday (May 30), making Dubai the first Arab city to host the event. On the occasion, the Global Blockchain Council will launch the first four initiatives in digital financial transactions aimed at improving the operating systems related to trading mechanisms as part of
the efforts to adopt the latest technology and explore its impact on various sectors.
The four pilot projects will be launched during a panel discussion on the impact of these projects in transactions between entities and individuals. Under these initiatives, DIFC will preserve and record people’s assets; Loyyal will promote Dubai tourist locations; DMCC will enhance the trade flow and registrations; and will also certify rough diamonds through Blockchain using Kimberly international certification process.
On this occasion, Saif Al Aleeli, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation, the founding member of the Global Blockchain Council said: “Dubai has become a model for innovation practices by launching the Global Blockchain Council’s initiatives at the Keynote Conference which will be the main pillars of the roadmap on digital financial transactions and the adoption of Blockchain system in the financial sector.”
Al Aleeli said the presence of international experts at the conference offers a great opportunity to discuss the implementation of Blockchain technology and the relevant international laws and practices in this field. “Our strategy of implementing this technology is based on thorough studies of actual statistics on the impact of Blockchain systems and digital currencies in financial markets and trading as well as its role in enhancing investment rates,” he added.
The agenda includes several sessions and panel discussions with the participation of international experts in the field of digital currencies to highlight the application of digital financial transactions. The conference will host influential speakers and decision makers from major financial institutions from countries around the world such as the Netherlands, Germany, Japan and the United States, and will have the participation of representatives of major private and public sectors companies from inside and outside the UAE.
A panel discussion featuring Magnus OlssonCEO at Careem, Anthony Butler CTO at IBM Cloud, Alvaro, Abella is a Managing Partner and CFO of BECO Capital, Victor Kiriakos MD Flat6Labs, David Chapman COO at ANX International, Peter Rizzo Editor at CoinDesk will discuss innovation based on future plans of the UAE government. It will specifically focus on innovation in financial technology, and investments like Blockchain systems.
