Some sectors in Sharjah may gloom but others will bloom in pandemic

Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources (SDHR) issued a study entitled “Effects of coronavirus pandemic on local business sectors and jobs,” to show the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on a number of sectors in the emirate.
The SDHR’s study noted that businesses that were able to fully transform to online operations are the “winning” works where jobs that can be performed remotely are in demand while other sectors that are not so tech-savvy might suffer as they lack the online transformation capabilities.
The study is part of the ongoing quest of SDHR to enrich the scientific and research aspects of the directorate as well as support governmental and private sector entities to face the challenges of the business world.
The study covered several aspects related to quarantine and its effects on businesses worldwide such as sectors that are related to travel, hospitality, sports, conferences, and group activities.
Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadem, Chairman of the Directorate, highlighted that this study aims to enhance jobs stability in the emirate through raising business and public awareness towards the challenges and opportunities in the job market.
He also stressed directorate’s keenness to cope with the latest news and effects of the
pandemic on job market and business opportunities, both globally and locally.
