Dubai Supreme Council of Energy in collaboration with the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) organised a workshop to introduce the National programme to produce electricity using peaceful nuclear energy.
The workshop, which aimed to promote nuclear energy and encourage closer collaboration within the public sector for it, was attended by member organisations of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, and officials and specialists from organisations and companies working in the fields of energy and renewable energy in Dubai. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, emphasised the importance of the workshop to raise awareness about peaceful nuclear energy and its role in generating electricity, ensuring the readiness of relevant organisations.
“This workshop supports our efforts to achieve the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 to provide 7% of Dubai’s energy from clean sources by 2020, 25 percent by 2030 and 75 percent by 2050,” said Al Tayer.
