HH Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President’s Representative, said that the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan was an exceptional leader and an icon of tolerance and humanitarian giving.
In a statement marking Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed said that the Founding Father established a tolerant country that gained global respect and achieved great development strides, with his legacy being carried on today by President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
“On this occasion, we appreciate our Founding Father, everyone’s father, Sheikh Zayed. Celebrating his memory is not limited to a day or an occasion, it has been with us since he died 15 years ago,†he added while affirming that Sheikh Zayed was a man of giving and was unforgettable and that the anniversary of his death is an opportunity to promote values of giving and charitable work.
“Sheikh Zayed is alive in the minds and hearts of the Emirati people and the peoples of Arab and Islamic nations. His name is alive in international forums through his achievements,†he further added, noting that history will remember him as a leader who loved his people, who loved him back.
