The Zayed Higher Organisation (ZHO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club about developing and enhancing the involvement of people of determination in the various marine sports activities.
The agreement also stated that the two entities would cooperate in raising awareness about sailing and rowing and their role in society. They would make it available to all members of the community, support the competition during contests and championships, both local and international, cooperate in empowering people of determination through athletic, cultural, and entertainment activities, and ensure they are included in these activities.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the ZHO by Abdullah Al Humaidan, Secretary-General of the organisation, and on behalf of Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club by Ahmed Thani Murshid Al Romaithi, Vice Chairman and Managing Director. The ceremony was attended by a group of the leadership of the ZHO and the marine club at the former’s headquarters.
Under this MoU, the ZHO will register the club’s players to train on marine sports available in the sports club and encourage them to be more socially involved.
They will be encouraged to practice marine sports, and there will be attempts made to attract more women to participate in the future.
Marine sports will be made available to people of determination in the Al Dhafra area
to participate and facilitate
everything the club needs for people of determination programmes. The club staff will be trained to deal with people of determination.
A team of staff and students of the organisation will be formed to protect the maritime environment and cooperate in all environment projects and activities.
Al Humaidan hailed the club for signing the MoU, its role in organising and encouraging the practice of all marine sports and activities, raising awareness about sailing and enhancing its effective role in society as a part of the UAE’s heritage.
He assured that marine sports are a stepping stone to bigger cooperation and a new challenge in a new kind of sports, to people of determination who already have achieved a lot of victories and championships in a lot of sports under the care, the leadership, and the great support of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.
Al Romaithi expressed his happiness at signing the MoU with the ZHO and stressed that the sports club’s board of directors is headed by Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan bin Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and all club employees are honoured to work and cooperate with the organisation.
He thanked the ZHO for providing this great opportunity to work with people of determination. He stressed that each person will do his best to complete the task and in line with the aspirations of both parties, whether the club or the institution, as well as the heroes themselves.
