Under the patronage of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, HH Lt General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, on Wednesday attended the graduation ceremony for the 43rd class of UAE University students.
In the Grand Hall of the Crescent Building on the university campus in Al Ain, 691 male and female graduates were celebrated for their exceptional achievements across various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
The ceremony also welcomed notable dignitaries, including Sheikh Shakhbout bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State; Sheikh Khalifa bin Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan; Sheikh Saeed bin Surour Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Sheikh Saeed bin Butti Al Maktoum; Sheikh Rashid bin Butti Al Maktoum; Abdullah Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi, Minister of Justice; alongside officials, guests, family members of the graduates, and faculty staff.
The event commenced with the national anthem of the UAE, followed by a documentary showcasing the students’ journey at the university. Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to His Highness the President and Supreme President of the University, delivered a keynote speech, along with remarks from the graduates. Notably, graduates from the College of Medicine and Health Sciences took the medical oath during the ceremony.
In his address, Zaki Nusseibeh emphasised, “We gather today under the benevolent guidance of our wise leadership, advancing steadily along the paths of glory and greatness, defined by giving, loyalty, and belonging as envisioned by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.”
He highlighted the achievements of UAE University, which is preparing to celebrate its golden jubilee in two years, reflecting the vision of its founder, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The university stands as a national incubator and cultural beacon, having produced over 80,000 graduates who now hold prominent leadership positions.
The current class comprises 2,581 graduates from diverse fields and academic programmes. The first day honoured distinguished graduates, with 158 males and 533 females recognised, while the second day, October 31, was expected to feature two sessions for an additional 1,890 graduates.
Rashid Saeed Al Kindi, a graduate from the College of Business and Economics, addressed his fellow graduates during the ceremony, conveying their collective pride in contributing to the UAE’s future. He affirmed their commitment to diligently pursue the vision of their wise leadership and to elevate the UAE’s profile on global platforms, inspired by the encouragement of youth innovation. Reflecting on this pivotal moment, he noted that they are concluding their academic journey and stepping into a new phase filled with both opportunities and challenges.
He pledged their dedication to the nation, promising to serve the UAE and safeguard its achievements while continuing to pursue knowledge and innovation, which he believes are essential for a prosperous future.
He also expressed deep appreciation to the university administration and faculty for their invaluable support, as well as to the parents, who have been steadfast pillars of encouragement throughout their educational journey.
