Sponsored by HH Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Member of the UAE Supreme Council, Ruler of Umm Al Quwain (UAQ), the 3rd UAE Economic Planning Forum 2016 will be held on November 1-2, at Sheikh Khalifa
Wedding Hall in Umm Al Quwain.
This year, the Forum looks at the concept of industrial sustainability and its importance to the industrial sector in the UAE. It will also focus on the current and future challenges facing this sector and how to address them. Being a platform for all parties involved in the development of the national economy, both at local and federal levels, the Forum aims to enhance and promote partnership, collaboration, and exchange of ideas and experiences by bringing together the Ministry of Economy, the UAE’s different Departments of Economic Development and other entities involved in economic planning. The 3rd edition of the Forum is organized by Umm Al Quwain Department of Economic Development, supported by the Ministry of Economy, and will see participation by all UAE DEDs.

The Forum had started as an initiative by Abu Dhabi DED, with its first edition hosted by Fujairah in October 2014, and is set to be held regularly at the UAE’s different Emirates. It plays a pivotal role in reviewing current and expected economic plans and strategies across the country, as well as linking the different economic plans to the development and improvement of the UAE’s diverse economic sectors.
The UAE’s economy has seen rapid developments as a result of economic diversification and sustainable development of all sectors, which comes in line with UAE’s Vision 2021 agenda, aiming for a knowledge-and-innovation based economy that is one of the world’s strongest most competitive economies.
