Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al
Maktoum, on Tuesday met the key Arab social media influencers on the sidelines of the Arab Social Media Influencers Summit (ASMIS) being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
He was accompanied by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid welcomed the prominent Arab social media influencers to their “second home,†saying that the UAE would always be a melting point of diverse creative individuals and bright minds, and all those who are able to make a positive change in people’s lives. Mohammed posed for a group photograph with prominent Arab social media influencers and Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Chairperson of the Organising Committee of ASMIS.
He also toured the venue of the summit, where Al Marri briefed him about different sessions, held on the sidelines of the event, which attracted more than 2,500 attendees.
Al Marri said the venue was designed keeping in mind the key target audience of the summit – the youth – who represent the majority of social media users. She also said that the design was inspired by what the youth represent, and it also aimed to depict the summit’s objective of using social media in a positive way and empowering the youth to play a greater role in the development of their communities. The tour, which followed the ASMIS Awards ceremony, included various stations at the summit, including fashion and cooking.
