His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received British Prime Minister Theresa May, in
Manama, Bahrain.
HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, and HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation were also present at the meeting.
The two sides discussed several issues related to the historic friendship between the UAE and the UK and ways to enhance them, especially in renewable energy, tourism and banking.
They further reviewed a number of regional and international issues related to terrorism and ways to fight it to eliminate its resources at various levels, and also discussed promoting security, stability and peace in the region and the world.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid hailed the historic ties between the two friendly people. He also stressed the importance of boosting the relations as both countries are keen to pursue mutual interests and objectives.
The UAE is the fourth strategic trade partner of the UK and about 1.5 million British tourists visit the country.
May confirmed the UK’s participation in Expo 2020 Dubai, pointing out her government’s support for the international event, hosted by the UAE, as well as the participation of the British public and private
sectors in the event.
The meeting was attended by members of the delegation accompanying His Highness Sheikh Mohammed, including H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of the Emirates Group; Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and The Future; Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; Obaid bin Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of State for Financial Affairs; Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Co-operation; Mohammed Ibrahim AI Shaibani, Director-General of His Highness the Ruler’s Court, Government of Dubai; Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Director-General of the Department of Protocol and Hospitality in Dubai, and Abdulridha Abdullah Mahmoud Khori, the UAE Ambassador to
the Kingdom of Bahrain, also
attended the meeting.
Mohammed arrives in Manama for GCC Summit

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, arrived in Manama leading the UAE delegation to participate in the 37th Summit of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed was received at Sakhir Air Base by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa of Bahrain, His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa Bahrain’s Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani Secretary-General of the GCC, a number of Sheikhs, members of the Bahraini government, top military officers and ambassadors of the GCC states in Bahrain.
