A series of meetings held by Minister of Economy Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri with several leading world figures participating in the seventh edition of the Annual Investment Forum, which started in Dubai on Sunday, focussed on areas of common economic interest.
Al Mansouri met Rustam Minnikhanov, President of Tatarstan, as well as the Ministers of Economy, Foreign Trade, and Industry of Moldova, Costa Rica and Panama, respectively.
During his meeting with Minnikhanov, the Minister underlined the UAE’s keenness to foster economic and trade relations with countries throughout the world. He also highlighted the UAE government’s strategy to build a knowledge-based and sustainable economy. The two sides reviewed the best ways to develop bilateral economic relations and promote investment opportunities.
The president of Tatarstan discussed his country’s desire to develop robust business partnerships with the UAE and enhance co-operation in all economic domains.

Al Mansouri also met the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Moldova, Octavian Calmic. He reviewed the results of a visit by UAE officials earlier this year to Moldova, in which ways of strengthening co-operation were discussed, including avoiding double taxation between the two countries.
The two sides discussed signing a possible air transport agreement to increase direct flights between the countries to promote trade and tourism.
The meeting with the Foreign Trade minister of Costa Rica, Alexander Mora, touched on ways of developing bilateral relations in areas of agriculture, aviation, tourism and infrastructure.
The growing prospects of co-operation in logistics and tourism were the focus of the minister’s meeting with the minister of trade and industry in Panama.
