The UAE on Thursday dispatched a new plane carrying 90 tonnes of relief and food aid to Al Arish city, Egypt, in preparation for their transport to the Gaza Strip, as part of the UAE’s ongoing efforts to alleviate the escalating humanitarian suffering of civilians in the Strip.
As part of “Operation Chivalrous Knight 3”, this aid batch, which comprises 450 tents, as well as food parcels and dates, brings the number of UAE aid flights to Al Arish to 238, since the launch of the operation.
The UAE launched Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 on 5th November 2023, with the Joint Operations Command of the Ministry of Defence leading the operation, in cooperation and coordination with the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, and the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, to enhance urgent relief aid efforts to support the Palestinian people in Gaza.
The UAE transported 33,000 tonnes of food and medical aid, and shelter equipment via 395 cargo planes, including 103 planes that participated in airdrops as part of the “Birds of Goodness” operation. UAE aid to Gaza also included 6 cargo ships carrying aid from the UAE and Cyprus to Al Arish and Nothern Gaza, as well as 1,243 aid trucks carrying various forms of aid.
The UAE’s humanitarian approach to supporting the Palestinian people is a testament to its firm stance to provide them with relief aid spanning the past few decades.
