The United Arab Emirates and Albania explored avenues for stronger collaboration in support of the Olympic movement during a meeting between officials from both nations.
Fidel Ylli, President of the Albanian National Olympic Committee, met with UAE National Olympic Committee (UAE NOC) Board members, including Major General Dr. Mohammed Al Murr, Ahmed Abd El Malik, Qais Al-Dhalai, Noura Al Jasmi, Abdulaziz Al Salman, in Dubai.
The NOC Board members conveyed the greetings of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and president of the UAE National Olympic Committee, to the visiting guest. The discussions focused on identifying means to enhance bilateral cooperation for the mutual benefit of both countries’ athletes and sporting communities.
Both sides reviewed recent developments and major sporting events, including the ongoing Winter Youth Olympic Games in the Republic of Korea, where the UAE is participating for the first time.
Ylli received a briefing on the upcoming 1st Gulf Games Youth Edition, scheduled for April in the UAE, with participation from 2000 athletes across the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. This event serves as a crucial preparation platform for upcoming competitions.
Discussions also addressed potential partnerships through training camps and workshops, facilitating the exchange of expertise and successful practices in various Olympic disciplines.
