Prime Minister of Bulgaria, Boyko Borissov met His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
During the meeting which came as part of Sheikh Abdullah’s state visit to Bulgaria, Borissov and Sheikh Abdullah discussed bilateral relations between the UAE and Bulgaria and ways to enhance them in a number of fields.
They exchanged views on the latest regional developments and tackled a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Sheikh Abdullah conveyed the regards of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to Bulgarian President and their best wishes of more progress and prosperity for Bulgaria.
In turn, Borissov reciprocated his greetings to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and wished further development and prosperity for the UAE.
Sheikh Abdullah emphasised that the UAE looks forward to developing ties and cooperation with Bulgaria in all fields in the best interest of the two friendly peoples.
Prime Minister of Bulgaria welcomed Sheikh Abdullah’s visit and emphasised its importance to boost bilateral relations between the two countries across various sectors. Abdulwahab Nasser Hassan Al Najjar, UAE Ambassador to Bulgaria, also attended meeting.
Abdullah visits National Historical Museum in Sofia
HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited Bulgaria’s National Historical Museum in Sofia, as part of his official visit to the country.
During the visit, Sheikh Abdullah was accompanied by Bulgaria’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva and Abdulwahab Nasser Hassan Al Najjar, UAE Ambassador to Bulgaria.
Sheikh Abdullah toured the museum, founded on 5th May 1973, contains over 650,000 objects connected to archaeology, the fine arts, history and ethnography.
He was briefed about the Thracian gold treasures, the centrepiece of the Thracian art collection, Boyana Church, and other artefacts in the museum.
UAE’s new embassy premises open

HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, opened the new premises of the UAE Embassy in Sofia, as part of his state visit to Bulgaria.
“The opening of the embassy translates the UAE’s keenness to boost prospects of cooperation with Bulgaria across various fields,” said HH Sheikh Abdullah after cutting the ribbon and raising the curtain, inaugurating the new premises of the embassy in the presence of Bulgaria’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva.
Zaharieva stressed that the opening of the embassy is a step forward on the path to bolstering the steadily growing relations between the two friendly nations. Abdulwahab Nasser Hassan Al Najjar, UAE Ambassador to Bulgaria and several Arab and foreign ambassadors accredited to Bulgaria, attended the opening ceremony.
