Dr Mohammad Salim Al Olama, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHP), and Kanji Fujiki, Ambassador of Japan to the UAE, discussed ways to achieve joint co-operation in the health care sector between the two countries.
During the meeting held in the ministry, Al Olama reviewed ways to enhance joint work between the two sides and to take advantage from the Japanese experience in sophisticated technology and knowhow in the health sector.
He also highlighted the achievements accomplished by the ministry in the UAE and the continuous development witnessed in the health sector as well as the role being played by the ministry to achieve health security.
The Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention pointed out to the prestigious status of the UAE in the health sector due to its state-of-the-art infrastructure, legislation and human resources capabilities.
The two sides also discussed the possibility of having a twinning arrangement between hospitals in the two countries, cooperation in the field of preventive medicine and conducting a health survey for chronic diseases. They also tackled ways to facilitate the sending of Emirati patients to Japan to receive medical treatment in critical cases such as cancer and heart disease.
