Media should embrace all cultures and all languages together and try to give an objective full picture of the world from different locations, said CEO of Ruptly News Agency, adding that people from all over the world should be equally well heard.
In a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), during the Global Media Congress which concluded on November 17, Dinara Toktosunova, CEO of Ruptly, the award-winning video news agency, said that her agency publishes an average of 40 new video stories daily, provided by a 3,000-strong network of video journalists from over 100 countries, with a strong focus on breaking news, highlighting that “our newsroom people talk 26 languages and I think this is a very good example of tolerance in mediaâ€.
She added that Ruptly video news agency tries to expand its presence here in the UAE as the country is a great example of tolerance, “tolerance is blossoming.. You can see so many cultures here.. You can see so many nationalities, people, different types of media, so we really enjoy this place.â€
She noted that the UAE is the perfect place to expand content partnerships, saying, “Here, we can exchange our content with local media agencies and I also like our dream is to make a union of news agencies where we can exchange content freely and help each other to bring the best and the most interesting news from different parts of the world and make them seen locally but also take the local news and read them to the world.â€
The Global Media Congress — in Abu Dhabi — provided a platform highlighting talks and discussions on important issues in the media sector.

The launch edition of the Global Media Congress opened on Tuesday in Abu Dhabi under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court.
The three-day event, that took place under the theme “Shaping the Future of the Media Industryâ€, saw the participation from more than 1,200 media sector pioneers, specialists, and influencers from six continents in the globe, with more than 30 debates and workshops featuring more than 162 globally renowned speakers.
Moreover, the exhibition hosted more than 170 prominent media establishments and companies from 29 countries from all over the world, showcasing the latest international technologies.
