The UAE donated vehicles to security authorities in Aden governorate to help leverage security and stability there.
The UAE has so far donated 47 Toyota FJ Cruisers, 18 police cars, five motorcycles, six fire trucks, 50 fire suits, 10,000 police uniforms and airport security devices to the southern Yemeni city.
Chief of Aden’s security, Shallal Shaea, praised the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for supporting Yemen during the current crisis.
He said in Aden, the government’s two concurrent approaches are to eliminate terrorist sleeper cells affiliated with the rebel Houthi militia and forces loyal to the now-ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh, and receive support from the Arab Coalition and the UAE in particular. “The two lines cannot be separate. The security operation in Aden and all other liberated governorates continues. We and our brothers in the Arab Coalition and the UAE will always be united and will not allow the security and stability of Aden to be undermined.”
As part of its continuous support for Yemen, the UAE has so far renovated 14 government buildings, including fire stations, and re-furnished three police stations across Aden.
