The United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Denmark have signed an open skies agreement.
The agreement was signed today by Director-General of the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi and the Ambassador of Denmark to the UAE, Merete Juhl.
Al Suwaidi said the agreement allows for an unlimited number of their designated national flag carriers to operate unrestricted scheduled charter and non-charter operations with full traffic rights between all points.
The agreement also allows for full flexibility on the routes, capacity, and types of aircraft.
Laila Ali bin Hareb Al Muhairi, Assistant Director-General for Strategy and International Affairs at the GCAA, said such open skies agreements help promote business tourism and competitiveness in the UAE and support operations by national carriers such as Etihad Airways, Emirates Airlines, Air Arabia and flydubai.
