‘UAE continues to support and encourage research’

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received a delegation from the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR), headed by Director-General Jamal Sanad Al Suwaidi, at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi.
During the meeting, he was briefed by the Abu Dhabi-based think tank’s research programmes and projects and their results concerning regional and international issues, as well as the centers efforts in achieve its set goals.
He stressed that the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is aware of the importance of scholarly research as one of the fundamental ways to bringing about renaissance, progress and sustainable development. He highlighted that the UAE continues to support and encourage research because it is important for Arab Nation and the Muslim World.
Within this context, he praised think tank for its role in enriching scholarly research in political, economic, strategic and military spheres, as well as organising conferences, seminars and public lectures to raise awareness and enrich the community’s knowledge of issues of concern for the UAE. HH Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region attended the meeting.

UAE keen to develop healthcare: Mohamed

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Tuesday received a delegation from the Cancer Patient Care Society (CPCS), better known as Rahma (‘mercy’ in Arabic), headed by Chairman of the board, Dr Jamal Sanad Al Suwaidi, at the Qasr Al Bahr Palace.
During the meeting, HH Sheikh Mohamed highlighted that the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is keen on developing the healthcare sector and providing the best services to nationals.
He further praised the society for supporting cancer patients and their families while raising awareness of the
disease. HH Sheikh Mohamed was briefed by the delegation about the society’s goals and roles.
Rahma follows strict standards and regulations based on Emirati civilised and humanitarian firm principles, namely bolstering social partnerships to enhance medical and psychological care for cancer patients, noted Dr Al Suwaidi, Director-General of ECSSR.

The society, he added, also raises awareness of the disease and provides a comprehensive database of the best cancer treatment centres in the region and beyond.
