UAE companies jump on happiness bandwagon

As the government shows its commitment towards a happy UAE, companies in the Emirates are apparently doing their bit by devising strategies and making huge investments for employees.
In one such example, a UAE-based business support services company, Transguard Group and healthcare provider Al Tadawi Medical Centre recently invested AED 1 million to open a fully equipped medical facility in one of its employee accommodation facilities in Dubai.
Al Tadawi will staff and operate the centre, with two doctors and two nurses and will be open every day from 7.30am to 9pm, providing easy access to quality healthcare for its 7,800 plus employees based in Muhaisna.
“Any business leader will tell you that their employees are their most valuable asset, something we at Transguard wholly subscribe to. Happiness is very much on the Dubai government’s agenda at the moment and is at the heart of everything we do,” said Dr. Abdulla Al Hashimi, CEO, Transguard Group.
“We are totally committed to providing every member of staff with the opportunity to enjoy a healthier lifestyle, which we hope will lead to creating happier employees, which will ultimately lead to happier customers,” added Greg Ward, Managing Director, Transguard Group.
All existing Transguard employees that require medical attention will now be able to use their current medical insurance and any mandatory costs not covered by the company’s corporate insurance, can be billed direct to Transguard, streamlining the administrative process.
“From a practical perspective, this new facility is not only convenient and stress free for our employees, it saves the company time and money. This initiative is a key aspect of our employee wellness and engagement strategy and essentially provides a win-win solution for all Transguard stakeholders,” said Ward.
The clinic will provide a comprehensive medical service in one
location, including same day appointments and a fully equipped pharmacy. The clinic will also have an integrated information system, which helps to reduce lengthy referral processes.
“We want to help make it possible for all employees based in Muhaisna and the surrounding communities to receive comprehensive health care in a comfortable, convenient setting, close to home,” commented Dr. Abdulqader Al Khayat, CEO, AlTadawi Medical Centre. Looking further ahead, after the successful roll out of this facility in Muhaisna, Transguard and Al Tadawi aim to broaden their cooperation and open a further two clinics in Transguard’s staff accommodation centres in Al Quoz and Jebel Ali.
