UAE-China discuss ties, joint cooperation

UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan met He Lifeng, Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission of the People’s Republic of China, to discuss
possibilities for joint co-operation.
HH Sheikh Abdullah, who is on a state visit to China, emphasised the UAE’s determination to strengthen ties with China in various fields.
While welcoming Sheikh Abdullah, He Lifeng praised the UAE for its prominent standing within regional and international communities.
Both officials witnessed the signing of a framework agreement for building industrial capacities and co-operation between the UAE Ministry of Economy and the Chinese National Development and Reform Commission.
A MoU, was also inked between the UAE Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, TRA, and Chinese National Development and Reform Commission for the development of China’s Silk Road information technology.
The TRA and Huawei Technologies Co. sealed their co-operation with a MoU. A tripartite MoU for co-operation between the TRA, UAE University and Huawei Technologies Co., was also inked.

meeting with Vice Premier of China’s State Council
Zhang Gaoli, Vice Premier of China’s State Council, received HH Sheikh Abdullah, as part of his official visit to China.
The two parties discussed ways to enhance friendship and co-operation in areas of economy, trade and investment. The meeting also included a discussion on issues relating to the exchange of expertise and opening new prospects for joint co-operation to serve their mutual interests.
HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed emphasised the UAE’s desire to boost co-operation with China in various domains and build on their longstanding strategic relations.
In turn, Zhang Gaoli welcomed Sheikh Abdullah to China, saying the visit underscored the depth of UAE and China’s ties.
