‘UAE achieved exceptional position in volunteer work’

HH Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras al-Khaimah, has said that the UAE has managed to achieve an exceptional position in field of volunteer work due to the support of the wise leadership, led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, as well as the efforts of the UAE people.
HH Sheikh Saud bin Saqr added that President Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed’s declaring 2017 as the #Year of Giving, has contributed to promoting the concept of national volunteer work. While receiving the volunteer prosecution team from the Public Prosecution Department of Ras al-Khaimah at his palace in Saqr bin Mohammed City, he explained how volunteer work is a national duty and an ethical and community commitment, as well as a human right, which is in solidarity and communication with other people anywhere.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Rashid Ahmed Al Malik, Attorney-General of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, Saif Rashid Al Hussainy, Director of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and Head of the Volunteer Prosecution Team. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr also watched a documentary presentation on the volunteer team’s community projects for the current year, and listened to its goals, programmes and plans for the Year of Giving. Sheikh Saud had previously directed all government authorities and department to open their doors to volunteer work in all fields and sectors and to all citizens, so they could avail the opportunity to serve their country, contribute to the development efforts, and promote volunteering as a community culture.
