Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed attends Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training 2024 cohort graduation ceremony

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs, the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET) celebrated the graduation of 1,263 students from Fatima College of Health Sciences, the Abu Dhabi Vocational Education and Training Institute and the Abu Dhabi Polytechnic. The 2024 graduation ceremony took place at the ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi on November 13 2024, where His Highness attended the ceremony and honoured 157 outstanding students who graduated with honours.
The ceremony is aligned with the strategic goals of ACTVET, which aims to graduate national competencies trained in advanced programmes that address the demands of future industries. This initiative contributes to the development of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system and supports sustainable growth in line with the government’s plans to enhance youth skills and meet the demands of the labour market.
The event also celebrates the educational journey of the centre’s students, in alignment with its vision for the technical and vocational education sector to cultivate Emirati talent with skills and knowledge, enabling them to engage in the workforce. This also supports the achievement of the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030.
His Excellency Dr Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi, Director General of ACTVET, said: “We are proud to graduate our distinguished students, who are embarking on their journeys with passion and ambition to continue their studies at the best global universities and national colleges. We expect them to set an exemplary example of success and excellence in all fields they wish to explore, guided by the values and principles they have acquired throughout their educational journey and within the broader community of the UAE.”
The graduation ceremony featured a video presentation showcasing modern learning methods in educational institutions, the journey of the graduates, and highlighting the students’ achievements and success stories. In addition to His Excellency Dr Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi, the event was attended by several officials, parents, and students.
This ceremony marks the conclusion of the academic journey for the 2024 cohort at the educational institutions of ACTVET, including Fatima College of Health Sciences which meets the growing market demand for healthcare specialists through advanced academic programmes and high educational standards offered across its branches in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Al Dhafra, and Ajman; the Abu Dhabi Vocational Education and Training Institute that focuses on applied education, enabling students to acquire practical skills that qualify them for swift entry into the workforce through accredited vocational training programmes based on international standards in various fields such as engineering, information technology, business management, healthcare and design; and Abu Dhabi Polytechnic, which offers a dual vocational education system featuring a range of advanced technological specialisations. The goal is to equip the UAE’s industrial workforce with a select group of qualified engineers and technology experts.
