Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET), a leader in engineering and technology education, has recently launched its state-of-the-art data center under the Thapar School of Advanced AI and Data Science (TSAAI). This transformative collaboration with NVIDIA underscores TIET’s commitment to advancing AI and data science education and research in India.
Equipped with NVIDIA DGX systems powered by H100 and A100 Tensor Core GPUs, the facility delivers an AI performance of 227 petaflops and nearly 8 terabytes of GPU memory. This state-of-the-art infrastructure supports advanced research, complex data analysis, and innovation in artificial intelligence, establishing TIET as a frontrunner in India’s AI landscape.
In line with this initiative, TIET has introduced a new undergraduate program, BE (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning), aimed at building deep AI skills over four years. Additionally, a Master’s program in AI, ML, and Data Science targets working professionals, while specialized courses provide AI training for industry experts. The institute is also integrating AI elective courses across all programs, ensuring that all students graduate with AI literacy, earning 9-12 credits as micro-credentials in this critical field.
