Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) and the Emirates Heritage Club have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to protect, preserve, and revive national heritage, as part of a coordinated strategy to bolster Abu Dhabi’s position as a global cultural tourism destination. The MoU establishes a
mutual communication and cooperation channel between the two entities, focusing on enhanced joint association in the fields of tourism, culture, and marketing.
The MoU was signed by Saif Saeed Ghobash, Director-General of TCA Abu Dhabi, and Sinan Ahmed Al Muhairi, Second Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors and Executive Director of
Activities and Sessions.
The agreement aims to promote heritage and cultural activities to attract local and international visitors to Abu Dhabi, as well as identify investment opportunities in the emirate. For prominent cultural elements, the focus is to make UNESCO lists of tangible and intangible heritage, something mirrored in the strategic goals of the two sides.
Commenting on the MoU, Saif Ghobash, said, “Our partnership with Emirates Heritage Club seeks to revitalise the emirate’s rich heritage and cultural assets so as to develop tourism and boost investment in this vital sector. It also aims to document unique cultural heritage elements by experts, narrators, and academics from both sides.†Ghobash also explained that signing the MoU falls within the framework of Abu Dhabi’s strategic objectives of establishing a strong link between the emirate’s rich past and cultural vision for the future, instilling both in the identity of young generations.
Sinan Al Muhairi said that the signing is another milestone towards developing tourism in Abu Dhabi and highlighting its cultural heritage, noting that both parties will exchange expertise and information in the respective fields of tourism, culture and heritage, and coordinate cultural events and activities, marketing, and cross-promotion campaigns on all social networking
channels and websites.
TCA Abu Dhabi woos Saudi residents to emirate

Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) is presenting a vast range of upcoming initiatives, events and activities to welcome residents of Saudi Arabia to experience the emirate’s unique heritage, culture and traditions throughout the course of 2017. The campaign underscores Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading destination for regional travellers wanting to experience a diverse selection of assets that provide original and attractive cultural experiences.
According to TCA Abu Dhabi Director-General, Saif Saeed Ghobash, the campaign has been launched in recognition of the fact that GCC remains one of the key target markets for Abu Dhabi’s tourism sector, with close ties and long-term mutually beneficial relations being held with Saudi. “The GCC, and especially the Saudi market, has continuously been one of our key targets, providing encouraging prospects as well as a natural convergence of culture, language, customs and tradition between our communities,†Ghobash said.
