Tadweer, KSA Municipality discuss ‘waste collection’

Tadweer (the Center of Waste Management – Abu Dhabi) hosted delegation from Al Khobar Municipality of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi. The Deputy General Manager and heads of the Strategy, Public Awareness, Collection and Transportation of Waste, Public Health Pest Control, Projects, and Licenses, Tariffs and Customer Service departments welcomed the delegation which consisted of the Deputy Mayor of Al Khobar, General Manager of Hygiene, Markets and Control, and Head of Community Service Department.
Dr. Salem Al Kaabi, Deputy General Manager of Tadweer, stated that “this visit comes as part of the efforts to strengthen cooperation with all local, regional and global entities, aiming to transfer expertise in the field of waste management and public health pest control, as well as the exchange of experiences in raising public awareness among members of the society on proper waste management.”
During the visit, the attendees discussed Tadweer’s strategy, the efforts made to develop waste collection and transportation, public health pest control methods, procedures for granting permits to environmental services providers. The Waste Master Plan, awareness campaigns on proper waste management in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, Tadweer e-services, in addition to a brief about recycling plants of plastic waste, tyres, agricultural waste, and demolition and construction waste recycling plant was also deliberated.
The delegation also toured the Public Awareness department, the Customer Service Center and Control Room in Tadweer, where they witness arts of recycling, awareness methods used by Tadweer.

, in addition to visiting the electronic control room to monitor the vehicles that collect and transport waste in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Khalid Adbullah Al Saad, Deputy Mayor of Al Khobar Municipality in KSA expressed his gratitude for the warm welcoming and the useful information shared. Al Saad said that “the objective of the visit is to exchange and communicate knowledge from an Emirate successful in the environment field.”
Members of the delegation praised what they saw and heard from the officials of Tadweer. They also commended Tadweer’s advancement in the field of waste management, pest control and environmental awareness.
