Switzerland lauds ‘new stage of bilateral relations with UAE’

The second meeting of the UAE-Switzerland political Consultations Committee has begun in Bern.
The meeting was co-chaired by Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Jarman, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Political Affairs, and Wolfgang Amadeus Bruelhart, Assistant State Secretary for Middle East and North Africa Division, Swiss Federal Department for Foreign Affairs (FDFA).
Mohammed Sultan Al Owais, UAE Ambassador to the Swiss Confederation, attended the meeting.
The UAE and Swiss officials reviewed a number of issues of mutual interest, ways to enhance co-operation and bilateral relations and exchanged views on a variety of regional and international topics.
The Swiss officials hailed the existing strategic partnership with the UAE, which, they deemed as a new stage in bilateral relations which were witnessing a notable development at all levels. The Swiss delegation also confirmed the important role of the private sector in supporting the official ties. The delegation highlighted the role played by the UAE in the international humanitarian arena and its constructive contributions to alleviate the current humanitarian crises.
Al Jarman said that holding the second meeting of UAE- Switzerland political Consultations Committee regularly underscores the two counties’ keenness and desire to maintain distinct and strong relations.
