Sony has released a new interactive virtual reality game, based on the supernatural blockbuster film “Ghostbusters.”
The game, titled “Ghostbusters VR – Now Hiring”, is available for purchase as an app on iOS and Android mobile platforms, with a price tag of $4.99 and also comes as a free addition with purchases of the 4K Blu-ray editions of the recent film reboot.
The game, which can be used with compatible virtual reality viewing devices such as Merge VR Goggles or Google Cardboard, allows players to re-assemble proton packs, hunt ghosts and trap them in containment units, touch and feel ecotoplasm, and tour the group’s firehouse headquarters (via Variety).
The launch of the branded VR app, follows the recent release of the latest adaptation of the original 1984 film, with the 2016 version starring an all-female main cast, which saw Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon, and Kristen Wiig taking on the roles of paranormal investigators.
