Sisi arrives in UAE on 2-day visit

President of Egypt Abdel Fattah El Sisi arrived on Wednesday for a two-day visit to the UAE.
He was received at the Presidential Airport by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
President El Sisi was given an official reception, where the national anthems of both countries were played, followed by a 21-gun salute in honour of
the guest.
The Egyptian President then shook hands with the Sheikhs and senior officials, while Sheikh Mohamed greeted the Egyptian officials accompanying President Abdel Fattah
El Sisi.
Those receiving the President of Egypt included H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser; H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs; H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; Ahmed Juma Al Za’abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs; Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority; EAA, Jassem Mohamed Bu Ataba Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Executive Committee Bureau and Member of Abu Dhabi Executive Council; Mohamed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Under-Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court; Juma Mubarak Al Junaibi, UAE Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, and Lt. General Isa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Deputy Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces.
The Egyptian President is accompanied by Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Sahar Nasr, Minister of Investment and International Cooperation, Dr. Mostafa Madbouli, Minister of Housing and several senior officials.

‘UAE-Egypt ties witness
broad rapprochement
and understanding’
Relations between the UAE and Egypt are witnessing broad rapprochement and understanding at the level of political leadership about issues of common concern, according to Ambassador of Egypt to the UAE, Wael Al Sayed Mohammed Gad.
He made the remark in a statement to WAM on the occasion of the official two-day visit of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to the UAE that began on Wednesday.
The visit comes within the context of existing excellent relations at both at the popular and official levels that were established by the founder of the UAE, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and are being continued under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the ambassador added.
He described al-Sisi’s visit as an opportunity to hold significant talks about ways of bolstering excellent relations and continue consultation and co-ordination about regional and international issue to contribute towards strengthening co-operation on addressing challenges facing the Arab Nation.

Speaking on the economic relations, he described the partnership between the UAE and Egypt as strategic.
The UAE is the largest foreign investor in Egypt with US$6.2 billion by the end of February 2017. Egypt’s exports to the UAE reached $2.38 billion while its imports from the UAE stood at $885 million, he explained.
Cultural relations provide strengthens for increasing rapprochement and co-operation between the two countries, the Egyptian ambassador said, and noted that preparations are being made to organise a number of cultural and art events to contribute towards stronger relations.
