Sharjah University to open more campuses

HH Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah and President of University of Sharjah, UoS, stressed the important role of Sharjah University in producing qualified graduates to maintain its high academic ranking, during a speech at the graduation ceremony of the first group of the 17th batch of Sharjah
University students.
“We are planning to open several campuses in different cities across the Emirate. This will ensure the success of Sharjah University and help us fulfil our aspirations and duties towards our religion, our community and our nation. We are currently working on developing and promoting the new campuses in order to make university education widely attainable,” he said.
He highlighted the fact that the university had benefited from the expertise of the International Universities Strategic Planning Organisation in helping to draft a five-year strategic plan, as well to promote potential academic and scientific co-operation agreements with other universities and academic centres around the world to improve its academic programmes.
He then mentioned the university’s future plan to add more courses, including PhD programmes in Business Administration, Linguistics, Translation, Dentistry, Biomedical Sciences and Pharmacy, as well as Masters programmes in Rheumatism and Family
Medicine.
Five new PhD programmes and 14 Masters programmes are in the process of being accredited by the Academic Accreditation Authority, to add to the eight PhD programmes and 19 Masters programmes that are being currently taught in the university, he further stated.
He prayed to Allah to bless the graduates and wished them a successful professional life.
