The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) participated in the Outbound Travel Mart (OTM) Mumbai 2017 travel trade show.
The exhibition, one of the largest travel and tourism shows in India, attracted a large number of participants from the tourism and travel industry from the region and the world.
Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of SCTDA, said, “India remains a key source market for Sharjah, sending more and more visitors to the emirate every year. The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority is taking part in OTM Mumbai under the umbrella of Ministry of Economy to reaffirm our commitment to strengthening cooperation between the emirates when it comes to tourism, as well as to highlight Sharjah’s tourism offerings and increase communication with key decision makers. This, in turn, bolsters our strategic ties with the Indian market, and allows us to benefit from the significant momentum it has to offer.”
He went on to say that Sharjah products present good opportunities that are well received in the market. The emirate offers an ideal platform for business, shopping, and beach-resort tourism, and new campaigns launching this year will profile the environmental assets of the emirate, which are expected to appeal to an even wider market.
OTM Mumbai is one of the largest travel platforms in India. In its 2016 edition, the show drew 1,000 participants from 50 countries.
