Sharjah signs agreement to boost tourism in emirate

The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) signed an MoU with the Directorate of Town Planning and Survey in Sharjah. The agreement was signed by Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of SCTDA, and Salah bin Butti Al Muhairi, Head of the Directorate of Town Planning and Survey, in an effort to bolster cooperation between governmental, semi-governmental, and private institutions to improve the emirate’s tourism sector.
The agreement seeks to highlight the tourism and entertainment offerings of the emirate, which, in turn, helps to promote Sharjah as a tourist destination. The MoU also underlines the importance of cooperation and teamwork to achieve the aspirations and strategic goals of both parties.
Al Midfa said, “We, at the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, are working to improve our promotional efforts to position Sharjah as a premier tourist destination, and to expand the emirate’s tourism sector, which is a major component of its economy.”
