The Sharjah Media City “Shams” is taking part in “Xposure 2024”, the 8th international photography festival, which runs from February 28 to March 5 at the Sharjah Expo Centre.
The Shams Pavilion is a must-visit for photography lovers and eager spectators, offering cutting-edge competitions, a wide range of lectures, awards, and chances to network with professionals in the field while learning about trends in visual narrative. At the heart of the festival, Shams presents a series of workshops featuring four esteemed speakers sharing insights and expertise in
the cinematic and photographic arts. Alongside, Shams showcases its technical products, training courses, artistic productions, and professional photographic services. Dr Khalid Omar Al Midfa, Chairman of Shams, emphasised the festival’s role in fostering collaboration, sparking creativity, and opening doors to new opportunities for photographic projects.
Highlighting the festival’s flagship events, Shams announced a three-hour screenwriting contest and “Move the Image” challenge, offering participants avenues to showcase their creativity and win coveted collaborations. Additionally, “Create with Shams”, an AI platform, showcases the works of local talent within the Shams community. Shams also hosts a riveting
panel discussion featuring industry heavyweights like Glenn Rogerman, Hans Freikin, Brett Neal, and Jeevidha Sharma, providing invaluable insights into the evolving landscape of photography and media. In the main competition, Emirati screenwriter Mohammed Hassan leads a workshop on crafting compelling narratives, offering aspiring filmmakers the chance to hone their skills and vie for prestigious awards.
