Sharjah Health Authority (SHA) in corporation with University Hospital Sharjah (UHS) has been offering free health screenings at the Sharjah Directorate of Town Planning and Survey, where staff and visitors were able to obtain free tests for blood-sugar levels, cholesterol, blood pressure and their body mass index, BMI.
A team of specialist nurses from UHS undertook the tests, with over 200 employees and visitors benefitting from the results and advice provided.
The SHA initiative is designed to help raise awareness of the benefits of an early diagnosis and preventative treatment for various health conditions. Every month, UHS nurses will visit a different Sharjah Government department to offer these free tests to staff and visitors.
Abdullah Al Mahyan, Chairman of Sharjah Health Authority, said, “Under the guidance of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, SHA’s proactive approach to monitoring and advising people about their state of health is intended to help build and support a healthy and productive workforce, while emphasising the need for early detection and diagnoses of any health
conditions.â€
