The Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB) will participate in the Global Media Congress, which will be held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, by Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (Adnec) in partnership with the Emirates News Agency (WAM) at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from November 15-17.
Tariq Saeed Allay, Director General of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, stressed the importance of the Global Media Congress Exhibition and Conference in exchanging global media experiences, expertise and the latest developments in the media industry, pointing out that the unique media summit provides excellent opportunities to explore and evaluate the sector’s growth.
Allay underscored the SGMB’s keenness to participate in the congress as it is an exceptional global event that will be hosted by the UAE and will witness the participation of more than 300 media organisations and 150 media companies from 17 countries.
The congress will be hosting 30 dialogue sessions featuring global leaders, experts and senior officials of local and international media organisations and will also form a number of specialised groups to take up the latest topics and trends in the fields of media, digital communication, Artificial Intelligence, and advanced technologies, he pointed out.
The SGMB, during its participation in the Global Media Congress over a period of three days will share and highlight the unique media experience of Sharjah and the SGMB’s various initiatives and programmes to empower the media and government communication sectors in the emirate.
The SGMB agenda at the Abu Dhabi Congress includes spotlighting its various initiatives and experiences, including the International Government Communication Forum (IGCF), Sharjah Government Communication Award, the Ithmar Media Training Programme for Children and Young People, and the Job Shadowing Program in addition to the experiences of candidates in the Official Spokesperson Programme that the Bureau adopts for training officials of various entities of the Sharjah government.
The Global Media Congress will also be briefed on the functioning and achievements of the various departments and entities of the SGMB, including the International Government Communication Centre, the ‘Sharjah 24’ electronic news portal, the Sharjah Press Club and the efforts to build professional competencies in government communication and media work in various government agencies and departments.
A study of the government communication experience in the Emirate of Sharjah is currently being reviewed and will be out soon.
The official announcement of the Professional Diploma for Government Communication in its second session is also underway.
As part of its activities at the Abu Dhabi Congress, the SGMB will also be hosting an inspiring and lively dialogue session to present the universities’ experience in the Job Shadowing Programme, unveiled by the SGMB, in addition to presenting the working papers about the Sharjah Contact Centre, which is yet another successful initiative of the SGMB.
