The Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) recently organised a seven-day training trip to Japan for its employees, as part of a programme to prepare future leaders, and in line with a strategic plan for improving human, financial and
technical resources of the
department to achieve organisational excellence.
During the trip, organised in collaboration with the Kaizen Training and Event Management Centre, the employees visited Japanese institutions, companies and factories that work on improving their employee’s self-development skills through special training courses.
The SEDD pays great attention to the human element, which is a top priority, and should be always improved and developed, said Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, SEDD Chairman.
The trainees attended discussion sessions and practical experiments and learned about innovation at leading Japanese institutions and corporations such as Toyota, he added.
Abdulaziz Al Midfa, Deputy Director of Government Communication Department, who headed the delegation, said that trip included courses prepared by a group of academics and specialists based on Kaizen.
Kaizen is a Japanese philosophy that encourages the continuous improvement of one’s personal life and the ongoing quest for improvement at work.
