The second edition of Emirates Academy of Dermatology, Aesthetics and Laser Conference & Exhibition – Emirates Derma successfully concluded in Abu Dhabi on Saturday; featuring many productive discussions, brainstorming sessions and exchange of knowledge on a variety of topics in cosmetic dermatology, plastic surgery, facial aesthetics and anti-ageing.
Over the three-days, the premier skincare gathering that hosted the ‘Emirates Injection Boot Camp’ was successful in attracting the participation of over 300 participants from across the world while also creating a perfect platform to discuss the most important developments and advanced techniques and technologies useful for the treatment of various types of skin diseases.
On the third and final day, the conference hosted a series of scientific sessions on many key trending topics in dermatology including: dermoscopic findings in circumscribed patch of hair loss, use of topical human factors and cytokines in skin rejuvenation, hair restoration and procedure recovery, approaching aging face new concepts filler botox fat injection and
suture lifting, facelift and fat grafting X fillers, artificial intelligence in dermatology and the role of lasers and light devices for the treatment of melasma among others.
Commenting on his participation in the 2nd edition of Emirates Derma and giving an insight into his topic, ‘Facelift’, Andre Mattos MD, Brazil, Plastic Surgeon, said, “As a practicing surgeon, working in 2 countries, Brazil and the UAE, with distinct cultures and diverse populations is a huge challenge. With a rich experience of over 25 years in conducting practical workshops and training in face lifting and fat grafting around them world, I wanted to share my ideas and experiences with specialists and skincare practitioners in the UAE, who face similar challenges in dermatology. The 2nd edition of Emirates Derma and the 1st Emirates Injection Boot Camp in Abu Dhabi, provided a great opportunity for the mutual exchange of knowledge and ideas.â€
He added, “With the power, social media has over our daily lives, beauty has never been so widely sought after and the abundance of multiple plastic surgery procedures are only encouraging more and more people to embrace new skin treatment options. This new development is leading the industry as well as the physicians to be more open to new ideas and update themselves with the latest tools and technologies.â€
While many new technologies and innovations are being developed at a rapid pace with the introduction of the next generation fillers, facelifts and Botox, experts revealed that many non-invasive procedures such as fat melting and body contouring will continue to appeal to those patients, who are seeking new ways to reduce fat. In addition, doctors and specialists highlighted a few procedures that are revolutionizing the skincare market marking an exciting new phase including the all new Ultralift, which lifts cheekbones, jawline definition and delivers a smoother, tighter skin while micro-needling, uses small needles to prick the skin and is greatly helpful in treating scars, wrinkles and large pores offering a smoother, firmer and more toned skin.
