SCCI sets September 29 as deadline for entries in ‘ShjSEEN’ Award

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), has announced that September 29 would be the deadline to receive entries for the Sharjah Economic Excellence Network (ShjSEEN) Award, which is aimed at spreading the culture of quality and excellence among the private sector various bodies and implementing the practices which contribute in setting comprehensive quality standards and excellent
performance.
The ShjSEEN Award is held under the patronage of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, in line with the SCCI’s efforts in shaping the investment environment in the emirate, consolidating its competitiveness and empowering it to benefit from quality, leadership and innovation values.
The award’s objective is to promote corporate governance, encourage the endorsement of quality standards and work codes of ethics, develop the private sector’s operating premises toward the community, encourage eco-friendly practices and to strengthen the role of economic bodies in accelerating sustainable development, all together, through providing facilities, launching new projects and initiatives and promoting them to continue their success and recognize their achievements.
The award consists five categories; Sharjah TOP 10 Best Businesses Award for medium or large enterprise, Sharjah UAE Startups Award, Sharjah Entrepreneur Award, Sharjah Green Award, and Sharjah Social Responsibility Award.
Nada Al Hajri, General Coordinator of “ShjSEEN”, said, “Under the patronage and directives from the Ruler of Sharjah, the emirate is moving forward with confident steps in supporting excellence and competitiveness in all sectors, stimulating and attracting more entrepreneurs so they benefit from services offered by the Emirate of Sharjah and the UAE.”
Al Hajri has called upon all businesses, corporations, companies and entrepreneurs, who meet the award requirements, to participate and compete to win for the importance the award represents for their work, commercial and economic activities. He pointed that all entrees in the ShjSEEN Award will undergo a professional, clear, transparent and objective evaluation process to boost the successes of excellent businesses and innovative entrepreneurs.
The nomination for the “Sharjah TOP 10 Best Businesses Award” will be with fees that will be granted to the business achieving excellence. The award uses the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) Excellence Model, which is a framework in management excellence that is followed and endorsed by more than 30,000 companies from around the world.
The 10 businesses that can compete for this award can be from the following sectors: Manufacturing, Trade and Repairing Services, Real Estate and Business Services, Tourism and Hospitality, Construction, Financial Services, Transportation and Logistics, Education, Health Care and Digital Services sector.
The “Sharjah UAE Startups Award” is granted to innovative entrepreneurial ventures and new fast-pace emerging private sector bodies in the UAE. The award is open to all businesses from the private sector in the UAE. Evaluation will take place benchmarking innovation and measurable success. The prize value for this award is AED100,000.
The “Sharjah Entrepreneur Award” is allocated to the most successful entrepreneurs, who have made a significant and a noticeable difference in their lives and society. Entrepreneurs from the private sector can submit their entries under one of three sub-categories covering the City of Sharjah, Eastern and Central area. Assessment criteria will be based on professionalism, leadership, and measurable success, in benefiting the society, and the winner will receive a cash price of AED50,000.
The “Sharjah Green Award” is for both, government and private sectors, to showcase their best environmental practices in Sharjah and introduce their innovative ventures in combating gas emissions and waste and strengthening sustainability. Nomination assessment criteria will be based on the level of achievements in the fields of recycling, waste and gas release minimization, use of green suppliers or materials, energy and water efficiency, training, safety, diversity, health and levels of staff
engagement.
The “Sharjah Social Responsibility Award” is open to private sector businesses and companies, and government bodies from all sectors in the emirate.
